SYNDICATE - NEEDS & OFFERS
The syndicate is to:
- Identify required training/infrastructural needs
- Coordinate offers of the partner nations
- Establish feasible procedures for participation
The syndicate holds sessions during Annual Conferences and Expert Talks of the P&S MTI.
For preparation 6 weeks in advance of every session the needs and offers have to be sent to office.mti@bmlv.gv.at.
During the sessions, a last coordination will take place if necessary.

Workflow
Procedures for requesting MTA and Trainings within MTI as listed below:
AUSTRIA
Military Training Areas
1. General Situation
Due to an increased demand of our international partners to use Austrian Training Infrastructure (especially the Military Training Areas – MTA) for their own National Training in conjunction with an increased number of Austrian Exercise and Training activities requires a central coordination of the usage of the Austrian Military Training Areas.
Until further notice this coordination will be done by the Training Coordination Division.
This coordination includes
• planned activities for the following year, and
• unplanned activities for the current year.
The central coordination shall ensure the usage of the Military Training Areas according to agreed priorities after consultation (and if possible the offering of alternatives) with all parties involved, enhance planning accuracy and optimize allocation of Training Infrastructure.
Requests for the use of Military Training Areas are therefore exclusively to be directed to the Training Coordination Division

2. Procedure
2.1. Activities for the following year:
Until middle of March the forms for requesting the use of the Military Training Areas
• BRUCK/NEUDORF
• ALLENTSTEIG
• SEETALER ALPE
• HOCHFILZEN und
• LIZUM WALCHEN
will be sent to all international partners.
These forms already include periods of time, when the usage is not possible for various reasons. The closed periods will be marked with red Xs. The desired dates/periods are to be inserted and the form is to be forwarded to the above-mentioned email address.
The name of the requesting unit has to be inserted in the column Einh/Vbd (unit) and the requested activities (e.g. live firing, training, mountain training, etc.) in the column Anmerkungen (remarks). The approximate strength of the unit has to be inserted in the column Stärke (strength).
Due date: End of the 2nd week of May (for planned activities for 2026 this would be the 09 May 2025)
Feedback in the form of
• Approval
• Alternatives
• Refusal
will be provided to the respective partner NLT end of July by the Training Coordination Division.
2.2 Unplanned activities for the current year
Requests for the usage of a Military Training Area during the current year are to be directed exclusively to the above-mentioned email address. The official approval/refusal will be handled by the Training Coordination Division.
2.3 Confirmation of approved Training Activities
The international partners are requested to confirm their approved activities per email eight (8) weeks prior to the start to the responsible department with the attached form (Notification_MTA) to the respective MTAs and the Training Coordination Division.
2.4 Important Remark:
This confirmation form does not replace the Request for Visit/Entry via the diplomatic channels or the request for the use of aircraft and/or drones but assists the Military Training Areas in the timely administration and organization of the planned activity.
2.5 Validity
This regulation (request / approved activities / notification) will be in effect upon receipt of this information.
